Shy, awkward, backwards. We introverts know these adjectives as alternative facts when the extroverts describe us.
Introverts are probably one of the most misunderstood personalities on the planet. We know none of these labels are true, yet we face a life of being perceived too shy to contribute.
The truth is, we are neither shy nor awkward, as we simply enjoy one-on-one connections more than group interactions.
We introverts can have some of the most meaningful, productive conversations with the least amount of words for two distinct reasons:
- We are highly observant and know when to listen & when to speak; and
- We don’t believe in wasting time on small talk. And what’s more – we’ll gather all the facts before speaking to avoid speaking only to speak.
