As a heavy mobile user for nearly everything in daily life, I have become comfortable with having my providers know more about me. Convenience outweighs my concern for privacy. This allows me to be aware of an upcoming flight, a scheduled meeting, that I am near a Starbucks, and even get updates from Amazon on interesting products I may like based on my previous purchase history.
I am comfortably resolved to letting all these various companies know more about my day to day life in order to be more productive with things of importance. Does that mean these companies have a detailed profile of me for future tailored marketing? Sure it does, but that will either enhance the level of services I’m getting from these groups or I simply ignore the next “Things you may like” email.
