1. Build a Company You Believe In

Starting a company from the ground up will require tremendous energy. And there will be days when you’ll want to give up. That’s why you must believe in what you’re doing. 

Passion is the fuel that will keep you going during the darkest days. So if you lack passion, it will be hard to keep your head above water.

Keep in mind that the road that leads to success is littered with those who gave up because they were chasing money rather than purpose. Build a company based on passion and the money will follow.

2. Be Careful About the Things You Compromise On

Never compromise your core values. Because once you’ve compromised your vision and purpose, you’ll end up compromising on anything and everything.

There are many aspects of business that require flexibility. Be willing to bend but not break. 

Products and services must often be tweaked and improved based on customer feedback and sales. And yet the core vision of the company needs to remain steadfast. 

Create a mission statement. Put it in writing. Frame it. And place it where it can be seen throughout the day as a reminder of what your company represents and why you stepped into this business in the first place.

Only accept money from investors who believe in you and your vision. After all, you’re seeking partners, not someone to take control of what you’ve created.

8. Keep Family and Health Your Top Priorities

Building a business can easily absorb all of your physical and spiritual resources. But it’s vital to not let your family or your personal health fall by the wayside. Running a company is stressful and demanding, but nothing is more important than family.
